Love the Hungry
Established in December of 2011, Kids Against Hunger-Louisville
has partnered with Resurrection Lutheran Church by utilizing office
space in the upper level of the gymnasium. The gym also provides
space for packaging events, and the kitchen facility is used to wash
and sanitize equipment.
Kids Against Hunger is a humanitarian food-aid organization
dedicated to feeding starving children throughout the world and
significantly reducing the number of hungry children in the U.S. Our
approach to ending hunger involves mobilizing volunteers of all ages
in the packaging of a highly-nutritious, vitamin-fortified soy-rice
casserole that is distributed to more than 60 countries through
partnerships with humanitarian organizations. This provides families
with a stable nutritional base, allowing them to move from
starvation and hunger to self-sufficiency.
Kids Against Hunger is supported by a network of more than 100 independent packaging
satellites across the country. KAH-Louisville has provided more than one million meals
for relief efforts and feeding programs in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Kenya, Haiti, Guatemala,
Romania, Zambia, South Sudan, and the U.S.
